Monte Massongill, serves as a Consulting Associate for the Mid-South Quality/Productivity Center (MSQPC) and is a native of the west Tennessee area.  He completed a Bachelor of Science degree at Union University in Jackson, TN. At Union, he majored in mathematics, minored in Secondary Education, and also obtained a teaching endorsement in secondary General Science. He earned a Master of Science degree in Technological and Adult Education, with a concentration in Industrial training.

Monte has worked full time in industry for several years as a trainer, engineer, and manager. He has worked in Quality and Training positions with divisions of Alcoa, Nissan, Cummins, and Huf – North America.  Monte is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and currently is employed with Metro Logics, Inc. as the Corporate Senior Quality Manager.  Most recently he was working full-time in the Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare System overseeing their system-wide Lean Six Sigma initiatives for their 7 hospitals which include Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.  His Prior employment includes Smith & Nephew Orthopaedics in Memphis as a Senior Quality Engineer/ Statistical Quality specialist, and Six Sigma Master Black Belt. He conducts seminars and workshops in North Mississippi in various Quality and Training related topics through the auspices of Northwest Mississippi Community college and has taught undergraduate courses at Walter’s State Community College in Morristown, TN. He is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Memphis and teaches part-time in the MHA graduate program.  Monte received a diploma from Columbia School of Broadcasting and has served as a broadcast meteorologist working on air with Fox 13 and the Channel 3 WREG-TV Weather team, and on various radio spots. He has also hosted a time Warner Cable TV Business Talk show.

Monte is an active member of the American Society for Training and Development and the Memphis chapter of the American Society for Quality. He is a licensed teacher, a Certified Quality Technician, Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and a trained Baldrige Examiner.  He recently received the 2012 Award of Excellence from the Memphis-Area Joint Engineers Council.
