Change: Leading Others
to Higher Levels of Productivity

COURSE SUMMARY
A one day course (7 hours) group discussions, worksheets, and role
plays that will provide attendees with an in-depth appreciation of
the change process and skills leaders need to apply to themselves
and those impacted by implementing the change. The following topics
are covered:
Review the mission and vision of the organization affected
Determine what must end and how to begin the movement from the
former ways
Honoring and encouraging resistance to the change
Identify the transition stage and barriers and bridges to
communication for effectively crossing this stressful territory
Develop six key actions steps (“A” Factors) to assist in arriving at
the new beginning
Importance of planting the change in the culture of the organization
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
This seminar will:
* Provide understanding of the change process
* Identity elements essential for a leader to plan for effective
change
* Identify resistant factors that may hinder the change
implementation
* Understand that resilience is required for those affected by the
change
* Apply six key action steps (“A” Factors) to execute and
institutionalize the change

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Directors, Managers, Supervisors, project managers, team/task force
leaders and others responsible for initiating and/or implementing a
change within their organization.
PRE-REQUISITES:
None. Bring a current or near future change project. Attendees will
use several tools such as Force Field Analysis, Hidden Resource
Finder, Action Planning, Gantt Charts.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Participants will learn how to:
* Effectively initiate a change
* Guide those affected by the change through the process
* Use resistance to facilitate communication about the change
* Implement the change so it will become part of the culture
* Involve all levels in the change process

METHOD OF EVALUATION:
Through observation of assigned exercises, open questions and class
discussion, attendance, and an evaluation form, the student will
demonstrate his/her ability to successfully complete the required
outcomes. Certificates of Attendance are given to all students who
complete the 7 hours of course work. CEU credit will be assigned a
grade of “S” Satisfactory.
