Baldrige Self-Assessments for
Manufacturing, Service,
Healthcare Organizations,
and
Schools involve all levels of
employees in an organization-wide strategic planning initiative, and provides a true
benchmark for evaluating quality readiness when applying for corporate, community, or
state awards that are patterned after the Baldrige model (or the national Baldrige award
itself). Organized in a straightforward format, these dynamic workbooks enable
participants to immediately grasp how to use the Baldrige award criteria to perform an
organizational "climate check" and to foster strategic improvement by employees
at every level. The workbook is written in layman's language that translates complicated
phrasing, compound questions, and explanation notes into understandable terms and
suggestions that can be used to spearhead improvement.
These workbooks are designed to help employees and employee teams conduct
a comprehensive assessment, write a quality award application, and use for strategic
planning within their organizations. Based on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award
criteria for performance excellence, the workbooks contain areas in which employees can
assess short and long-term strategic improvements and develop or enhance their
organization's existing business planning process.
A practical breakdown of the Baldrige questions will prove useful in
writing an application for any corporate, city, state, or national quality award that is
based on Baldrige criteria. In addition, these assessment workbooks are excellent tools
for encouraging total employee involvement in any organization or school's strategic
planning process.
